洋基「神之子」田中將大與馬林魚隊鈴木一朗昨日進行大聯盟生涯首度投打對決，取得優勢的一方是4打數敲出2安打的41歲一朗！田中於邁阿密客場7局被敲9安、失2分，登記本季第2敗與復出後首敗，洋基1比2輸球。
田中在4月下旬被診斷出右前臂一級拉傷與手腕肌腱發炎進入15天傷兵名單，6月4日復出以來3場先發都投滿7局，只不過昨役被敲9安打是個人本季單場最多，其中兩支來自大前輩一朗之手。
一朗擔任先發2棒中外野手，2局下兩人大聯盟生涯對決的第1個打席，就掌握田中的93哩四縫線速球，擊成穿出二壘防線的安打；3局下一朗以快腿跑出招牌內野安打。
洋基火力沒幫上田中，全場只有3安打，塔謝拉2局上的本季第18號全壘打攻下洋基唯一1分。馬林魚先發投手寇勒7局只被敲3安打失1分，奪本季第5勝。
藍鳥隊則是3比4敗給大都會，11連勝中斷。兩屆大聯盟全壘打王包提斯塔敲出2轟，包括9局上追平比數的陽春炮；而延長第11局上納瓦洛以高飛犧牲打突破僵局，但這仍不足以讓藍鳥獲勝。
關鍵在藍鳥的牛棚投手西索、韓卓克斯失手，11局下先後登板共失2分，包含被地主大都會隊佛洛瑞斯敲出再見安終結比賽，而錯失締造隊史最長連勝的良機。
